Scheduling and Team Management

3.1 Match Week Definition

  • Each match week starts on Monday at 00:00 and ends on Sunday at 23:59.
  • CET/CEST is the designated time zone for all EUSL activities.
  • Matches in the Pro division, and all playoffs may only be scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday (exceptions to be granted by League Referees via ticket).

3.2 Scheduling Matches

  • Thread Creation: All match threads are created at the beginning of the season and are labelled with the corresponding match week number.
  • Scheduling Deadline: Teams should finalize and communicate their agreed match time at least 3 hours in advance.
  • Weekly Availability: Teams are expected to check and communicate their availability for the following week by the preceding Sunday of the match week.
  • Early Match Request: Teams may play matches ahead of schedule if both captains agree, provided the match is scheduled on the permitted days and communicated in the match thread. League Referees will review these requests on a case by case basis.

3.3 Postponements

  • Mutual Agreement: If both teams agree to postpone a match, they must propose a new Match Week in the match thread subject to league referee approval.
  • Postponement Request Deadline: Any request to postpone a match must be made at least 24 hours before the originally scheduled deadline.
  • League Extension: If no agreement is reached for postponement, the requesting team may apply for a league-issued extension. Extensions will be granted for a maximum of 1 additional week, with the new deadline communicated by league administrators.

3.4 Cancellations

  • A game becomes official when added to the league’s Discord as an Sesh event upon clear confirmation from both captains. Cancellations after 12:00 CET/CEST on match day allow the opposing team to claim a forfeit win. Games must be scheduled by 16:00 CET/CEST on match day. For anticipated last minute scheduling, please inform the league via a Discord ticket otherwise your match will not be recognised as an EUSL fixture.

3.5 Minimum Matches Played Rule

  • Teams are expected to play a minimum of 4 matches every 3 weeks. Failure to meet this threshold will result in an automatic forfeiture of the unplayed matches unless a valid reason is communicated to league administrators.

3.6 Dispute Resolution

  • Unresolved Scheduling: If teams cannot agree on a match time within the allowed days or fail to play by the deadline, the league will intervene. The league will automatically set the match time on the next available default day.
  • Final Deadlines: Matches not played within the scheduled week or the granted extension will be marked as a forfeit against the non-compliant team unless a valid reason is provided.

3.7 Communication

  • All scheduling, postponement requests, and league extensions must be communicated within the official Discord match thread.
  • Failure to communicate within the designated channels may result in forfeiture or other disciplinary actions.

3.7 Exceptional Circumstances

  • If an exceptional circumstance arises that prevents a team from meeting the minimum matches played rule or other scheduling requirements, they must inform league administrators as soon as possible. The league reserves the right to make case-by-case decisions in such scenarios.

3.8 GM Conduct

  • General Managers are expected to take responsibility of getting their team availability and communicate this with other GMs via the Discord match threads.
    • Failing to make an effort to schedule will lead to forfeits

3.9 Reporting Match Results

  • The responsibility is on the winning team’s GM to report the match, but this can be done by any Player. Do this by sending links to the logs of all 3 periods to #match-reporting immediately after the game. Missing logs may lead to forfeits or rematches depending on the situation.

3.10 Team Disbandment

  • If a team disbands during the season, all players who were on the roster at any point will receive at least a 1-game suspension. The exact suspension will be based on the impact of the disbandment, how recently the player was on the roster, and if the player was the GM. Disbandments are strongly discouraged, but unavoidable cases will be reviewed individually. League referees may impose additional restrictions, including future participation bans in EUSL seasons.

3.11 Roster Limits

  • The maximum roster size for all divisions is 6 players. Pro teams also maintain a development pool of 3 players.
